Let's see how well I do!

I swear that I didn't know what to do with myself without schoolwork. So, I signed up for summer school! That will start in a few weeks.

Mom ended up in the hospital over night. I had an interesting conversation with my sister over this whole thing. Let's just say it looks like I'm the only one who cares....

I also got my second shot of Moderna. It worked out fine and I got no reaction from it.
Kimhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12246608419375171542noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7499926459786554715.post-36349809644088434712021-06-03T10:23:00.000-07:002021-06-03T10:23:04.832-07:00May 16th-May 22nd
I'm playing catch up again, so let's see how much I remember.

This week was marked by getting school work done. I had a lot to get done before the semester ended and made it! My goal wasn't made of getting an A, but I'll happily take a B.

I was still coughing up a storm, so my doctor prescribed something else. Let's hope that is it!

I was also unfortunately told that I'm now diabetic. I'm not at the point though where I need medication. Thank goodness! I joined Weight Watchers immediately and signed up for education classes.
Kimhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12246608419375171542noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7499926459786554715.post-20436375237966934502021-05-27T15:31:00.006-07:002021-05-27T15:31:50.409-07:00May 9th-May 15th
Mother's Day began the week. Dayna, a family friend who's really into baking bread (She has a TikTok account and everything to showcase it) made me this loaf for Mom at my request.

Mom couldn't believe it was bread at first and then enjoyed it. 😀

This was my first Mother's Day probably ever that I didn't spend it with her due to the fact that I was waiting for blood test results for Whooping Cough. Unfortunately it came back positive. 😒😒

School also continued on. We're still in PowerPoint and it's going fine.

I also took part in Ali Edwards Week In The Life. It was fun to document the week!

And so, that was my week.

Kimhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12246608419375171542noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7499926459786554715.post-40742305447457694222021-05-09T07:32:00.000-07:002021-05-09T07:32:07.663-07:00May 2nd-May 8th
Another week in the books. Let's see what went down this week.

School is still continuing on. This week started PowerPoint. So far it's easy.

Aaand, I got sick again and had to go back to the doctor. I've had a persistent cough that has not gone away in over a month. So, it was time to go to the doctor again. Bloodwork and three medications later........Here I wait for my final blood test to come in-for whooping cough. 😒 Until then, here is a happy picture of all the meds I'm taking for the next week....

Kimhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12246608419375171542noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7499926459786554715.post-62876922949787785052021-05-03T11:08:00.002-07:002021-05-03T11:08:25.537-07:00April 25th-May 1st
We finally hit the end of the month!

The highlight of the week was getting my first shot of Moderna in the COVID shot series. I'm hearing some things about the second shot, so I pray that I don't have a bad reaction. For the record, I had no reaction with the first shot.

I finally caught up with my class work and made my Excel grade decent. When I heard about some other areas of the country that had snow, I knew that I was lucky.

I was still playing catch up with my class. Still on Excel and the formulas harken back to my days of never doing well in Math.

Onto last week!

Kimhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12246608419375171542noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7499926459786554715.post-36127260616976333422021-04-29T14:00:00.003-07:002021-04-29T14:00:49.593-07:00April 11th-April 17th
I've got to catch up here, so I'll try and remember what happened each day.

I got a little behind on my school work. Still Excel. Icky subject. LOL.

The date and I talked every day but ended up wanting different things. VERY different, to put it mildly.

And that is it for that week.
Kimhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12246608419375171542noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7499926459786554715.post-31577501598637330052021-04-11T18:36:00.009-07:002021-04-11T18:36:56.588-07:00April 4-10th
And so, our week began with Easter. I watched service online over the weekend. I also had dinner with Mom.

School work began again also. It's just long and tedious, but doable. Still on Microsoft Excel.

And on Monday, I had a date with another guy. We'll see how well it went. Right now I'd say very well. as we are talking every day until we go out again.

And the "piece de resistance" of the week was having my garage broken into. Fortunately nothing was stolen, but it still sucked. I have a huge hole as a reminder!

Love that hole! I couldn't imagine more perfect Southern California weather.

I have to admit that since it was Spring Break for my school that I didn't keep track of things in the way I normally would. But here are the things I did keep track of!

I got my hair done! It was time.

I also went a little nuts at the 99 Cent store in honor of Easter. I was still coughing, but began to improve with all the medication in me. The one thing I needed to remember was that Prednisone makes you want to eat. :(

I began my studying on Sunday for the week. So far so good with Excel. My goal is to get an A in the class.

I took Mom on Monday to get her first COVID shot at Disneyland. We'll see how she does with it. So far she just has a headache.

Tuesday was time for my group.

Wednesday meant a call from the doctor to see how I was doing. She remarked that I sounded much better. I also went to a Republican Women meeting that evening with a friend.

Thursday and Friday included catching up on my work for the week. I finally finished up Saturday.

And so, I get to Spring Break. Let it be productive!
Kimhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12246608419375171542noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7499926459786554715.post-77848417588584470132021-03-20T14:47:00.003-07:002021-03-20T14:47:18.750-07:00March 14-20th
Time change began the week, which left me a mess for a day.

It rained for a bit on Monday, which was much needed. The sunset was a beautiful pink driving home, but I couldn't photograph it and drive at the same time. Damn! The evening brought a "wonderful" surprise of having my sink fill up with crap and have the plumbers come out late. There were four units with the same problem.

Yes, the Lysol came out!

Monday I had my weight loss group. I have to admit that I really enjoyed it and want to get back into doing it again. After some go-around, I ended up helping to write his obituary, which was an honor.

The week also began with insomnia once again, which meant time well spent by doing more school work. I'm learning more features of Word that I didn't know before, which is always a plus!

Weight loss class went on as usual.

I went to my group on Tuesday.

I got my hair did Tuesday also.

It was a beautiful day out.

I also went to my Ladies Bible Study via Zoom on Wednesday.

The dog had to hit the vet Friday.

That was an interesting experience taking her to the vet. I made use of it by doing class work.

I unfortunately had to be COVID tested Monday due to a minor test I was having done at the hospital later in the week. I've been COVID tested before, and this was much better. It was a nice, short line. Amazing though that the minor test got cancelled that day-after taking the COVID test.

Weight loss class continued on.

School work continued on. It's still Microsoft Word, but I'm actually learning some stuff that I didn't know (the more advanced features of Word). Go figure!

I also took part in my group.

My mom turned 83 this week also. I got her a nice cake and some roses and we ordered out. She was happy with that.

They finally placed my pastor on a ventilator. The church did a prayer and worship time that evening to pray and expect a miracle. The room was filled. That just shows you how much the pastor is loved. My church also did 24-hours of prayer this week also. I signed up for a time to pray. Sad to say though that by Friday he was fully dependent on the ventilator and his organs began to have problems. He passed away Saturday.

Here's to hoping for a better week next week and for better news!

Kimhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12246608419375171542noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7499926459786554715.post-79221544897812806712021-02-13T10:24:00.006-08:002021-02-13T10:24:58.321-08:00Word and Weight Loss
The week began with me actually not watching the Super Bowl! I heard it was a "meh" game anyway.

The week also consisted of me doing classwork. Right now it's all about Microsoft Word. It's a good refresher course so far.

I also started a weight loss class online through my medical group. This week was pretty eye opening and a good start.

After some thought, I found a major church in my county with a singles group in my age group! This does not mean that I'm going to leave my church. I love my church, but need to socialize more. 👍So, I joined an online ladies bible study through them and will try out a church service just to see what's up. The weather was pretty good and there were the usual high speed chases, which were in abundance this week, but not really much for me to report.

I had to get a blood test this week that's pretty routine now for my adenoma. It's pretty typical now for me to do this once every few months and the results came back normal. Yeah!

My pastor entered the hospital this week for the second time in a month. He has pneumonia, so I know very well what he's going through. I'm keeping him in prayer just like the rest of the congregation is doing.

Otherwise, things are pretty normal. I started school this week. I have to take a computer class in order to get my certificate I'm working on, so that's what's taking time. The class seems pretty straightforward. Do the work and get a decent grade.

I still have boxes from my move that my goal is to get rid of this weekend. I also have four bags of clothes that need to be donated from said boxes. That is a good feeling to go through that many bags of clothes.

I also joined a weight loss class through my medical group. I need this and since my doctor isn't for surgery, I decided this class was the best way to go. It starts next week! I printed out my materials already, which were over 100 pages!

And so, that pretty much sums up my week. Hope next week is more exciting!

Kimhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12246608419375171542noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7499926459786554715.post-35151935033950359162021-01-30T17:06:00.000-08:002021-01-30T17:06:26.317-08:00Back again
This blog is going to become a priority again, dang it. ☝

Well, the pneumonia subsided and I healed quite nicely from it. I also got my place cleaned out. During the cleaning though, my bathroom fan caught fire. The fire department did one hell of a job messing up the ceiling that I had to move out for five months while insurance fixed it up. I moved in with my mom during that time, which was special.

And now, to keep this thing up again.... February began on a lull note-pretty chill and ready to conquer what it had to offer.

I spent eight days in the hospital this month. I had pneumonia. What a month! The rest of the month has been spent recovering from this.

Kimhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12246608419375171542noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7499926459786554715.post-51207129835297367282020-01-31T20:27:00.000-08:002020-01-31T20:27:15.700-08:00January Jewels

January started out like most do-fresh and ready to tackle a new year-and a new decade.

I also started the year with resolutions. I had four: to join EHarmony to get into a relationship, to look for a new job, to join Weight Watchers and to clean my condo. All are still ongoing.

The new year started with two earthquakes this month. These are the most recent ones on the fault line near me, which makes me wonder if a big one is coming soon. I hope not!

I also had a scary situation happen around the same time with something online. I spent two days straightening out this mess.

Volunteering at church also got switched around. I'll now be working with the two-year-olds on Sundays. Yay!

I took a long overdue trip to Michael's and Hobby Lobby this month after a doctor suggested that I take up a hobby to do after I get home from work to make life seem less tedious while I search for another job. Hobby Lobby is great but overwhelming! I didn't find much that I wanted at this time except for some tags I'll be working on for Valentine's Day. That and some Chalk Couture should do the trick!

I got my hair done. It's nice to go to a salon down the street from me instead of the 15 minute drive I had before. Granted, 15 minutes is still nothing, but this is nicer.

I also had to wear a heart monitor for the last half of the month. I hope that comes out all right.

(Photo taken from Web site.)

January 25th included going to a concert at my alma mater. My niece (friend's daughter) sings in the University Choir, which is going to Carnegie Hall. They held a benefit concert to give the singers spending money for New York. It was a beautiful concert.

My church also had an anniversary lunch-a fiesta-complete with Mariachis! It was good-and quite thematic...

And of course that happened the same day as Kobe Bryant and his daughter passing away. Horrible....

My cousin Lisa had a boy on January 30th. Joseph Maxwell weighed in at 10 lbs., 6 oz. ! He is a cutie!

And so, that's the news of my life for January.

It has been almost two years since I've posted on this blog. A lot has happened during that time.

Two people died in 2018-one being my dad. A lot of other stuff has been going on too.

I can't promise to be regular on here, but I do want to start posting more.

Until then!

Kimhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12246608419375171542noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7499926459786554715.post-23552384046617488742018-03-25T17:22:00.000-07:002018-03-25T17:22:30.289-07:00Part 2 of February 2018.....

The last part of February was kind of depressing, honestly. The world was reeling over the shooting at Stoneman Douglas High School in Florida. And then, Billy Graham passed away. More was to actually come of that....

My dad was in pretty sad shape during those last few weeks of the month. He didn't shower at one point because my mom isn't strong enough to help him in the shower. I ended up talking to her a couple of weeks later about possibly getting some help with him and also shared different ideas I learned from friends who have been down this road with their parents.

I also ended up doing a lot of grocery shopping for my mom since she felt she couldn't leave my dad home alone. That was fine by me. I also ended up letting family know about Dad's upcoming surgery date.

Mom turned 80 during the last half of the month. We didn't do much for it because Dad felt terrible and I had a cold.

And that was February!

Kimhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12246608419375171542noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7499926459786554715.post-64848158146913052642018-03-10T22:03:00.000-08:002018-03-10T22:03:54.403-08:00February 2018-Part 1:

February is, so far, starting out to be just as boring as January. Haha.

The month started with me taking my dad to get an ultrasound of his carotid artery. I think one side isn't good, judging from what I saw. Of course, I don't know what I'm looking at either.

My mom and I both got sick in early February, right before her birthday. She had called the nurse hotline for her medical group, who I think totally over reacted. They told her to call 911 for what I really thought was a sinus infection. She then took herself to urgent care and got herself medication.

I got sick also and thought I lucked out with just a cold, as I saw nothing colorful. As luck would have it, I haven't been able to kick this and am now seeing that fun stuff and will get in to see a doctor in my medical group this week.

I also had my checkup from the surgery. All is well there. I hope that's it for procedures for at least a few years!

And, sad to say, we can't forget the Valentine's Day massacre at the Florida high school. Sad stuff. Very, very sad stuff.

Kimhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12246608419375171542noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7499926459786554715.post-18310555611644005632018-02-26T19:51:00.000-08:002018-02-26T19:51:00.685-08:00And the next two weeks...

The next two weeks were pretty boring also. :)

I did have a procedure done that's a bit TMI. The surgeon told me if the problem reoccurs to not have this procedure again. My niece (friend's daughter) was my driver. Here's to making this my last procedure for a few years!

I went to a talk at my local library that was about the basics of Alzheimer's and dementia. I figured that the information would be useful since I have elderly parents. I was right.

A friend is planning her wedding. I am included on the group Pinterest page, which is amazing to me. It's a Groupthink, Pinterest style.

My dad also injured his back again. He actually fractured two vertebrae by simply rolling over in bed. An orthopedic surgeon said this is due to some pretty bad osteoporosis. I guess an xray showed that the osteoporosis is all over. He'll have surgery shortly to correct the problem.

That's all I can remember for January. I hope the rest of the year is more eventful.

Kimhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12246608419375171542noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7499926459786554715.post-27862990165056074152018-01-17T13:52:00.000-08:002018-01-17T13:52:12.480-08:00The first two weeks....

I'm going to experiment here with more postings. Being consistent with it may be another story!

The new year began very uneventfully. I made my usual cleaning resolution and am making some progress towards it. Having the internet/TV service guy come out kind of expedited the need to not feel embarrassed about a messy home....

My internet and TV went out for about a week. I got upset when my internet/cable service didn't show up for their appointment. I cancelled an appointment to stay home, which is why I was not happy. I got a pleasant surprise though when I called to complain. I had a nice credit in my next bill! The problem ended up being a bad modem, which meant not having to pay a service fee for them coming out since it was a defective product. Double score! :)

I also had to renew my license. I had to retake the written test this time due to a ticket I got a few years ago. I tried just simply going down to the DMV on a day I had nothing to do. The DMV in my city had people standing outside when I drove up. It was raining that day, so I obviously wanted to avoid that. I had heard from a Facebook friend that a nearby DMV only handled drivers licenses, so I went there. No one was standing outside in the rain when I drove up, which was a big plus. However, the wait without an appointment was three and-a-half hours. I brought a library book with me and was almost done with it by the time they finally called my number. I was so happy when I finally left!

I hate to say it, but my elderly father has been starting arguments with me this month over nothing. One was about whether I should pay my car registration in person or by mailing it in. He screamed at me at the top of his lungs when I disagreed with him. Another one was when we were out together running an errand and I explained something to an employee of the store we were at, which had him enraged because I contradicted him. He was wrong and I wanted to give accurate information. He really yelled. A friend who is a nurse has given me some resources on how to combat this, but I think it won't be simple. Family members have offered to help, and I will start calling them in. I can't be the only one handling this. It is exhausting. I mean really exhausting.

On the medical front, I've only had one test. I know, shocking! It was a Pulmonary Function Test, which showed I have no breathing problems. I snapped this photo of the wall art while I waited to be called in. That's one thing I like about the medical group I'm in. They have really great art. Weird, I know, but it's nice to look at while you wait to see the doctor.

I'm sure the rest of the month will be just as exciting. Haha.
