The Rest of January...

Let's see, last time I updated you on my life here in Southern California, we were freezing. Now we've had a mixture of 80 degree days and rainy days while a lot of the country is buried in snow. I'll take a little bit of rain over that, thanks! :)

My church celebrated their 10th anniversary later in the month. I helped out putting together some balloon displays on the main stage. They all popped by the time I went to the last service the next day!!!! (Exclamation marks=frustration) I had to shake my head that it was two hours of my time that I couldn't even sit and admire my joint handiwork during the service! Oh well. I had to laugh when I saw the remainder balloons floating around during the service, as we had an opinion giver during the balloon assembly time come in before I had to go who really began to slow us down. I kept thinking, "It's balloons, lady. Let's just get it done." Aaaand, they popped...

One of the balloon displays on the main stage that I couldn't admire the next day...

Chandeliers got added in the sanctuary for the weekend services only.

I've really begun to think a lot about my goals for the year. I really need to move forward in many different areas. I've been praying about it. Now it's time to do my part.

Let the rest of the year begin!

Stay Tuned....

An Etsy page of mini albums are on their way. Stay tuned for a link on this blog.

I have to do something to supplement the increase in my health insurance premiums..... :)

So I went to the pharmacy today to pick up my prescription of Cabergoline and got quite a pleasant surprise. It went down by $15.00! I don't know why God chose to shine his goodness upon me today, but I'll take it! Woohoo!

Ringing in the new year, with a blech....

I wish I could say my new year was spent fantabulously. Hahahaha. It was spent in bed adjusting to one of my new meds and getting off another one.... I could not believe how tired and weighted down I felt! Fortunately I figured out that I need to take them before bed and all was well after that! (Granted, I'm still adjusting, but all is pretty much well.)

Otherwise, the new year has gotten off to a good start. I was happy that I finally got my day planner from ABM in the mail! (My fault) This thing is great! I love the colors and it's super nice!

It actually seemed like Winter here at the start of the new year, as it was freezing in Southern California. Let me repeat that. FREEZING!!!! We got down to the 40s during the day and the 30s at night in some areas. Snow was even projected in some areas! Other parts of the country laughed at us and called us cute that we were worried about a dusting of snow. People were actually rescued from their cars when the snow dusted in the hills! :)

And then, the polar vortex hit the rest of the country and we got nice weather again. I took a pic to possibly show friends in other areas of the country. (Not like they'd be annoyed or anything....)

No snow...We're just blurry and cold for Southern California :)
And I went to my church's women's bible study yesterday morning before getting work done. It was really nice! I unknowingly sat at a table with someone I knew when I was in a single's group at Eastside Christian! It's funny, considering that she and her hubby have been married 11 years and are going to be having baby #5 really soon!

A nice centerpiece on the food table

And now, may I, the weather wimp of Southern California, get used to this 60 degree weather!

Aaaaah.... All is well..........

I've been emailing the surgeon's office for a few days to see if they've gotten the results back yet from Beth Israel. I didn't mean to be annoying but it was driving me nuts to not know and I figured the squeaky wheel gets the grease. A call today from my medical group confirmed it indeed does. All is well. My medical group was being overly cautious by sending it to Beth Israel since I have fibrocystic changes.

Praise God! I was pretty worried before the biopsy (Who me, worry? :) ) and feel protected by the grace of God. Here's to less surgery in 2015! :)

One Little Word 2015: HEALTHY

Craft blogger Ali Edwards has a great series once a year called One Little Word. A focus word is chosen for the year to keep you on track and moving forward. I personally love this. It's amazing to me that I've now been participating in this for five years. Wow!

Last year's One Little Word I chose was HEALTH. I chose it before going to an appointment with my new medical group and figured it would be a nice reminder to lose weight, pick up healthy habits, etc. Nothing serious, just a nice reminder....

And then, I had four surgeries, which included a diagnosis I didn't like (but won't kill me) and kind of depressed me. Thyroid biopsies, ultrasounds and lab work also made up my year. And yes, the breast biopsy results hanging over my head....

For someone who didn't use her terrible PPO insurance policy because of the terrible deductible-which applied to everything-I sure was happy to have a better policy and went to town on it. I guess that's one way to get health. Go to the doctor! :)

So, this year I choose the word HEALTHY as my word. Healthy in all aspects of life-mind, body and spirit.

 Here's to 2015!

You can read about my other word choices from 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014.
